Guernsey Fibre Case Study
Guernsey Fibre Case Study
Using a collaborative approach to supply technicians for an island's largest-ever infrastructure programme.
Challenge
Our client had plans to roll out their island's largest-ever infrastructure program, bringing fibre to over 30,000 properties by the end of 2026. This ambitious project needed to scale FTTP installation resources, by mobilising up to fifteen FTTP Installation Technicians as quickly as possible.
Solution
A collaborative approach was used, with the client's Programme Director giving us his availability, enabling us to reach out to as many high-quality candidates as possible. This allowed us to move efficiently through the recruitment process, with a streamlined approach to screening candidates against the brief, which included defining the USPs of relocating.
Benefits
- Engineers were identified and secured well in the advance of the project start date.
- Technical Resources handled all background checks, compliance and certification information requested.
- We also managed all communications with engineers, keeping them engaged in the project leading up to the start date.
- If hired directly, typical delays to the project could have amounted to the benching of engineers while on the payroll. This risk was mitigated by using Technical Resources.
Results
- Three, quality hires in the first three weeks, with a further two placed within the subsequent weeks.
- Many promising interviews scheduled.
Resources supplied
- FTTP Installation Engineers
Key outcomes
- 20 Surveyors placed
- 1 project location
