Technical Resources is looking for a Technical Security Engineer that will be responsible for supporting on-site engineers while conducting system maintenance, and managing reactive and small or extra works related to CCTV, access control, and security systems. This role includes a requirement to be on-call on a rotating basis to support operations primarily during regular hours with minimal out-of-hours interventions.
Responsibilities :
- Conduct and oversee planned preventative maintenance activities on various security systems.
- Handle system upgrades and repairs in line with contractual obligations.
- Undertake modifications as per client requirements and maintain regular communication about key performance indicators and service level agreements.
- Prepare dilapidation reports for newly acquired contracts and make necessary recommendations for improvements or adjustments.
- Support system design, provide quotes, and ensure compliance with relevant British Standards.
- Maintain high standards of service quality, adherence to safety and security protocols, and manage comprehensive documentation of all activities.
- Play a key role in risk assessments, PPE compliance, and ensure all operations align with British Standards and best practices.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience in the installation, service, and maintenance of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm systems, and intercoms. Strong skills in CCTV and Access Control are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with a variety of security system manufacturers, including BOSCH BVMS, CEM, SALTO, COMMEND, BPT, and GALAXY—training will be provided where necessary.
- Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding skills, capable of resolving issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of work permit systems, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Proficient in PC use and LAN/WAN networking, including operating systems.
- Relevant qualifications in health and safety, system design, surveying, estimating, and quotation preparation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively within a team or independently.
- Full UK driving licence required.
- Professional and presentable with a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Trade qualification or equivalent practical experience in related fields.
- Experience in cable containment, cable calculations, and understanding safe working practices and permit to work systems.
- Strong team-building skills and a commitment to professional development.
