Job Title: Security Installation Engineer
Location: Wigan
Rate: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum

Technical Resources are recruiting for a Security Installation Engineer in Wigan to carry out installations of electronic security systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems. We are looking for an experienced engineer with a proven track record in installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems in both government and commercial environments.

Responsibilities :

• Install and configure electronic security systems including CCTV, fire alarms, and access control systems to meet project requirements and standards.
• Install and configure IP and analogue CCTV systems, ensuring proper setup and optimal placement for network integration and remote monitoring.
• Install addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in compliance with BAFE and other fire safety regulations.
• Install biometric, card reader, and keypad-based access control systems, ensuring proper configuration and integration with security protocols.
• Test and commission installed systems, ensuring full functionality and compliance with client and regulatory standards.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring installations are carried out safely with appropriate PPE.
• Complete documentation including commissioning reports, handover forms, and compliance certificates.
• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and teams to ensure timely and efficient installations.
• Ensure fire, CCTV, and access control systems are seamlessly integrated with existing security infrastructures.
• Provide training to end-users, ensuring they are fully equipped to operate and manage installed systems.
• Flexibility to undertake short-term assignments away from home for high-priority projects.

Experience and Certifications Required:

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with strong installation and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional) to BAFE standards.
• Proficient in IP CCTV and analogue systems, with an understanding of SSAIB standards.
• Experience with access control and intruder alarm systems is beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Successful security screening is required for this role.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is desirable.
• Certifications such as IPAF, CSCS/ECS, FIA, or City & Guilds/NVQ in relevant disciplines is desirable.
