Fire Service and Installation Engineer

£36,000 - £40,000 per annum + overtime + company vehicle
Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire Service and Installation Engineer to service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, as well as Nurse Call and Access Control systems in accordance with relevant British Standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing service reports, conducting stock checks, and ensuring the safety of themselves and others in line with Health and Safety regulations.
Responsibilities :
- Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems in accordance with BS5839-1.
- Service and maintain emergency lighting systems, Nurse Call, and Access Control systems.
- Report deficiencies or deviations in systems.
- Maintain emergency lighting systems and other associated equipment such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
- Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance and promptly report any safety risks.
- Complete first-time fixes where possible.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Previous experience with fire alarms and knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
- FIA training or equivalent in BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
- Understanding of BS5839, particularly parts 1 and 6.
- A good level of IT literacy.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations in the workplace.
