Job Title: Fire and Security Service Engineer
Location: Bath
Rate: £38,000 - £44,000 per annum + overtime available + company health care plan + referral scheme

Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire and Security Service Engineer to join a well-established team in Bath. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of life safety systems, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, nurse call systems, AOV systems, and other life safety equipment. This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on complex and varied projects.

Responsibilities :

  • Service, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety systems, including nurse call and AOV systems.
  • Carry out remedial works and extensive repairs as required on all types of life safety systems.
  • Demonstrate systems for customers, explaining causes and consequences of false alarms.
  • Work towards and exceed maintenance and fault-finding targets.
  • Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours callouts and telephone support.
  • Understand and meet clients’ needs on every job.
  • Ensure health, safety, and welfare of yourself and your team in accordance with company policy.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Strong knowledge and background in fire safety and security systems.
  • Proven experience in servicing and repairing fire systems, including conventional and addressable systems.
  • Experience with GENT and Advanced fire alarm systems (desirable).
  • Knowledge of BS5839 standards (essential).
  • Excellent first-time resolution and risk management skills.
  • Good installation practices and experience with integrating detection systems into other disciplines.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • FIA commissioning accreditations are highly desirable.
  • FD & A Unit 1 b (preferred).
  • FD & A Unit 2 (preferred).
  • FD & A Advanced Installer (preferred).
  • FD & A Advanced Designer (preferred).
  • FD & A Advanced Commissioner (preferred).
  • Experience with VESDA and other aspirating manufacturers (desirable).
  • Electrical background (desirable).
