Technical Resources is looking for a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer that will execute installation tasks on both new and existing fire detection and alarm systems, adhering strictly to local and national standards. This role demands compliance with both technical and safety regulations in a variety of work environments, including those with specific security controls.
Responsibilities :
- Install fire detection and alarm systems following BS5839 pt1 2013 and BRE/LPS1014 installation rules.
- Perform duties in radiological and explosive controlled areas, following all required safety training and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of working hours through weekly timesheet submissions.
- Adhere to all health, safety, security, and environmental policies that impact both customers and fellow employees.
- Uphold rigorous engineering practices and maintain company equipment in good condition.
- Exhibit exemplary timekeeping and housekeeping at all work sites.
- Follow directives from the Company Safety Manual during all operations.
- Report on work progress as requested by management.
- Foster and maintain effective client relationships to aid in securing future work.
- Manage and account for tools and plant equipment on site to ensure alignment with project requirements.
- Deliver weekly progress reports to the Line Manager.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- City and Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2 in electrical installation or an equivalent qualification.
- Extensive experience in the installation of containment and cabling for fire detection and alarm systems.
- Experience working in industrial environments.
- Holder of the 17th Edition Electrical qualification.
- Deep understanding of relevant fire standards including BS 5839 Pt 1 – 2013, BS 6266 Pt 1 – 2013, and BS 7273.
- FIA training completion, specifically Units 1 (Fire Detection Design) and Unit 4 (Installation and Testing).
